LAUREN DAY
FORMER TV NEWS EVENING ANCHOR & REPORTER
Lauren is a creative, innovative, and competitive anchor/reporter for KHON2 News. She anchors the 7 & 10 pm newscasts Monday-Friday. Lauren also reports on breaking news, natural disasters and other interesting, relevant and engaging feature stories. During the pandemic, Lauren started a segment for KHON2 called "Hardworking Hawaii" where she features long-time local businesses and shares how they are managing to stay afloat. Her segment has become KHON2's most popular series.
In addition, Lauren is consistently one of the top performing social media reporters in the market. She strategically uses digital to connect with viewers, tell stories, and learn about what's happening in the community.
Most recently, Lauren Day launched "News of the Day," a daily Instagram news show for KHON2 News. Lauren hosts, films and produces News of the Day, a place for viewers to get the top local news stories of the day in 2 minutes or less. News of the Day consistently brings in thousands of views and drives traffic to KHON2.com.
Prior to KHON2, Lauren was an anchor/reporter for NBC Palm Springs. There she gained an aggressive, yet compassionate reporting style and passion for telling stories. Lauren has gained many "exclusives" for NBC Palm Springs. She also pitched unique lead enterprise stories. Some of her most memorable stories include a five-part in-depth series on the History of HIV/AIDS, a look at medical migration in Mexico, and coverage of the California wildfires in 2018.
Originally from Honolulu, Lauren is a graduate from the University of Southern California Annenberg School of Journalism. Lauren is actively involved with the Asian American Journalists Association. Prior to NBC Palm Springs, Lauren interned with ABC7 in Los Angeles, Fox News Channel and KHON2 News in Honolulu.
